SIMA to Hold 13th Annual Symposium
The Snow & Ice Management Association will hold its 13th annual Snow & Ice Symposium at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, R.I., from June 23-26. ACI Announces New Resources
The American Concrete Institute announced the availability of two resources designed to educate and inform concrete contractors and craftsmen. An audio version of the third edition of The Contractor’s Guide to Quality Concrete Construction has been released, available in CD and MP3 formats. AWP Equipment Document Created
The American Rental Association, Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Associated Equipment Distributors, International Powered Access Federation and Scaffold Industry Association have joined forces for a first-of-its-kind industry initiative to develop an educational document to clarify what is required for general training and model-specific familiarization of aerial work platform equipment. The result of the initiative is the Statement of Best Practices of General Training and Familiarization for Aerial Work Platform Equipment, which addresses standards recognized and supported by the industry, best practices and minimum general training guidelines, differences between general training and familiarization, and minimum qualifications of the trainer.
TCIA and PLANET Pursue Partnership Opportunities
The Tree Care Industry Association and the Professional Landcare Network announced that the organizations have decided to defer continued discussions on unification at this time. They will continue to pursue partnership opportunities and explore ways to work together to further the interests of both memberships and the green industry as a whole.
