Hantle Reaches Certification Milestone
The Quad-State Turfgrass Association announced that longtime member Larry Hantle was honored by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America for reaching the milestone of continually being a Certified Golf Course Superintendent for the last 25 years. Hantle has served as superintendent at the Country Club of Paducah (Ky.) for the last 16 years and was also superintendent at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh, Ind., for 15 years.
ASGCA Elects President, Associate Members
Erik Larsen was elected president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. He is executive vice president and senior golf course architect of Arnold Palmer Design Co., Orlando, Fla.
ASGCA also welcomed six new associate members, bringing the total number of members to 187. The new members are Kevin Atkinson, Phelps/Atkinson Golf Course Design, Evergreen, Colo.; Todd Clark, CE Golf Design, Kansas City, Kan.; Billy Fuller, Billy Fuller Golf Design, Atlanta, Ga.; Todd Quitno, Lohmann Golf Designs, Inc., Marengo, Ill.; Kevin Ramsey, Golfplan-Fream, Dale & Ramsey, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Andy Staples, Golf Resource Group, Phoenix, Ariz.
ASA Elects New President and Officers
The American Shotcrete Association elected Patrick Bridger to a two-year term as its president. He is president of Allentown Shotcrete Technology, Inc. and has been involved in the shotcrete business for over 25 years.
ASA also elected Joe Hutter as vice president, Michael Cotter as secretary and Ted Sofis as treasurer. William T. Drakely Jr., Charles Hanskat, Tom Norman and Ray Schallom III were elected as directors.
