ANLA Announces Winner of Job Board Contest

Work Truck Show Returns to Indianapolis

The Work Truck Show will return to Indianapolis, Ind., for the next two years. The 2011 event will be held March 8-10 at the Indiana Convention Center. The 47th Annual National Truck Equipment Association Convention, education sessions and Green Truck Summit kick off March 7.

PGMS to Honor John Deere, Bourne

The Professional Grounds Management Society announced that John Deere will receive the 2010 PGMS Gold Medal and Jeffrey Bourne, chief of the division of facilities and capital programs of the Montgomery County (Maryland) Department of Recreation, will receive the PGMS E. Earl Wilson Award. The honors will be presented during dinner ceremonies on October 29 at the Galt House in Louisville, Ky.

PLANET Members Participate in Day of Service

The Professional Landcare Network held its 14th annual Renewal & Remembrance event at Arlington National Cemetery. More than 450 individuals from across the nation participated, spending the day mulching, caring for and cabling trees with lightning protection, pruning, liming, planting and aerating the soil. The event began 14 years ago with a dozen volunteers and has grown to involve more than 300 companies.

Nine U.S. landscape architecture students spent two weeks studying the grounds surrounding the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in Geneva and drafted a sustainable landscape design that can be phased in over five years. The project is sponsored by the U.S. Mission and the American Society of Landscape Architects. The students are David Bramer, Colleen Gilfrich, Michael Lindquist, Jennifer Obee, Kirsten Ostberg, Natalie Ross, Damon Sanchez, Michael Scholtz and Katherine Tooke.
