For the past 16 years, Benchmark Landscape has been recognized for excellence by the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) at the CLCA’s Annual Beautification Awards Program. This year, Benchmark Landscape earned six awards, including top honors in Commercial Construction, California-Friendly Landscape Construction Commercial, two in Commercial Maintenance and two California Friendly Landscape Maintenance awards.
Benchmark scored two wins for its project with Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Poway. This was a unique project as one of the church’s parishioners donated approximately 60 various sized mature California Live Oak trees to be used in the new landscaping. Hundreds of large, natural boulders were placed throughout the church site along with an extensive plant pallet consisting of California native and drought tolerant plants and ornamental grasses. Additionally, Benchmark Landscape installed a system that pumps ground water into two 5,000-gallon aboveground tanks to irrigate the entire property. With this system, the property will be irrigated properly and the church will save a considerable amount on its water usage.
Benchmark Landscape is a consistent winner at the CLCA’s Beautification Awards year after year,” says Sharon May, president of the CLCA San Diego Chapter. “Their work is always unique, attractive and topnotch. No wonder they are one of Southern California’s leading landscapers.”
