Blount International, Inc. has begun construction on a new $17 million facility, bringing a 350,000-square-foot distribution center and 89 jobs to Kansas City. The facility, which is due to open in January 2012, is a Class A distribution center that will be built on 22 acres at the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre. Besides adding the new jobs, it will keep 230 current employees in the region.
