LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape Founder/CEO Craig Ruppert was honored by the Catholic Business Network of Montgomery County (CBN-MC) as the 2013 Catholic Business Person of the Year at its annual Gala on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.
From small neighborhood beginnings in the 1970s where he started to the business out of his father’s garage, to the commercial, mid-Atlantic present-day operation, which employs nearly 900, Ruppert has been responsible for the overall vision and the development of the landscape company and other related entities including Ruppert Properties and Ruppert Nurseries. As CEO, his responsibilities include financial management, personnel growth and strategic planning with an eye on the development of future business opportunities.
Ruppert credits the company’s employees with the hard work that enables the company growth and allows it to support the community in numerous ways.
In addition to his role in the Ruppert organization, he is involved in numerous professional and charitable organizations that support the communities he serves, including Easter Seals Greater Washington-Baltimore Region, Food for the Poor, Sandy Spring Bank, St. John’s College High School, Associated Builders and Contractors Leadership Development Program and The Community Foundation of Montgomery County.
