SipcamAdvan Announces New Hires
SipcamAdvan has added Bob Braddock to the account management and sales team. He replaces Randy Gilliam who was recently promoted to sales manager. Braddock will manage key account responsibilities for the southeastern United States.
Braddock comes to the company with over 30 years of experience. After 17 years with Monsanto as sales rep and district manager, he moved to Micro Flo Company as business manager and later led the Micro Flo team as company lead in sales and marketing functions during Micro Flo’s ownership by BASF. Most recently, he was national accounts manager and a member of several leadership teams with Arysta Life Science.
SipcamAdvan has also hired George Stallings Ph.D. to the research and development team as western field development manager. He will manage technical development activities in the western U.S.
Stallings has over 20 years of experience in technical, research and marketing, including working as a research plant pathologist, root disease and biocontrol for the USDA, product development representative for Monsanto, technical services manager for Pace International and independent consultant/entrepreneur with his company Envision. He holds a Ph.D. in plant science from the University of Idaho, a Master of Education in science information/education from Colorado State University, and a B.S. in plant pathology from University of Minnesota.
SureGuard Herbicide Registered for Landscape Weed Management
Valent U.S.A. Corporation has received a new registration from the EPA that has been approved by all 50 states for the use of SureGuard Herbicide in landscape settings.
SureGuard’s active ingredient, flumioxazin, has a unique mode of action for controlling glyphosate-resistant weeds.
BASF Receives California Registration for Two Herbicides
BASF Turf & Ornamentals has received full state registration in California for FreeHand 1.75G herbicide and Drive XLR8 herbicide.
FreeHand 1.75G combines a granular formulation of dimethenamid-P with pendimethalin for preemergent weed control and is labeled for use in landscape ornamentals maintained areas, as well as container, liner and general grounds maintenance in specified noncrop areas.
Broad-spectrum Drive XLR8 features a liquid formulation of quinclorac for postemergent control for the prevalent weeds, including crabgrass, dandelions and clovers, as well as most cool and warm-season grasses.
DuPont Adds Steward to T&O R&D Team
DuPont Professional Products has hired Dr. Bruce Steward as product development manager for the turf and ornamental market.
Bringing over 25 years of industry experience, Steward will serve the Midwest and West territories in the United States, and be responsible for conducting product development research studies with DuPont pipeline active ingredients. Joining Dr. Chuck Silcox, DuPont’s product development manager for the turf and ornamental market, Steward will also provide technical service to the existing line of products.
