EPA Halts Sale of Imprelis Herbicide

DuPont has been ordered by the EPA to stop selling and recall its Imprelis herbicide. The order came after the EPA began getting reports in June from state agencies of damage to evergreens linked to Imprelis. The herbicide had been marketed to control weeds in recreational areas, such as golf courses, and commercial properties, such as sod farms, and had been approved for use in all U.S. states except California and New York.

SquareOne Herbicide Now Registered in New York State

FMC Professional Solutions has announced it has received registration from the state of New York for sale and use of SquareOne herbicide.

SquareOne is labeled for crabgrass and many small broadleaf weeds, and can be used in spring and fall on lawns, athletic fields, sod farms and golf courses. In addition to New York, it is also currently registered for use in all other states except California and Hawaii.

Daconil Action Fungicide Receives EPA Registration

Syngenta’s Daconil Action fungicide has received registration from the EPA. It has a protein boost from acibenzolar-S-methyl (also known as acibenzolar) and is for golf course superintendents and professional turfgrass managers. Research shows it provides longer residual control of anthracnose and dollar spot.
