Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado 2021 Awards Highlight Residential, Commercial Projects

  Earlier this month, Colorado’s landscape industry association, Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC), announced the recipients of its 2021 ELITE Awards. The ELITE Awards is the only program of its kind in Colorado and recognizes landscape companies and professionals who demonstrate professionalism, excellence, management practices, sustainability, and innovation. “This year’s award winners demonstrated outstanding commitment to the central values of our industry, even during one of the busiest and most challenging seasons we’ve ever had,” said ALCC Chief Executive Officer, John McMahon. “They have exhibited impressive environmental stewardship as well as sound business practices and community service.” ELITE Award categories also mirror the services and amenities ALCC member companies provide their clients, with awards for Community Stewardship, Design/Build, Innovation, Landscape Construction, Landscape Maintenance, Plant Design, and Sustainability. In addition, the Most Valued Player (MVP) category recognized four landscape professionals for their outstanding service and dedication to the industry. More than 120 landscape professionals gathered to celebrate Colorado projects that placed in the Awards, and the organizations that created or maintain them. NALP Announces 2021 Safety Recognition Award Winners

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) announced the recipients of this year’s Safety Recognition Awards on October 26 at its annual conference, LANDSCAPES 2021 in Louisville, KY. This national program acknowledges industry companies that consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety. NALP’s Safety Recognition Awards are open to the entire industry. This year, 119 companies participated, 316 awards were earned for the performance period from January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. Award categories include “No Vehicle Accidents,” “No Injuries or Illnesses,” and “No Days Away from Work” as well as the “Overall Safety Achievement Award.” Companies that participated in previous programs were also eligible for the “Most Improved” category. Nearly 500 participants representing companies that provide pest and plant health solutions for the specialty pesticide and agriculture markets met in Aventura, FL September 12-15, 2021 to collaborate, strengthen relationships and share information. The joint annual meeting of RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment)® and CropLife America took place virtually and in-person. NaturaLawn Of America Names 2021 Dan Collins Scholarship Winners

NaturaLawn® of America has announced the winners of the annual Dan Collins Scholarship Award, providing three college-bound high school graduates with funds to assist in educational expenses. First place recipient Autumn Moore of Perry County, PA was announced as the first place award recipient, receiving a $4,000 scholarship. Matt Tengtrakool of Middlesex County, MA was selected as the award’s second place recipient, and received a $2,000 scholarship. Third place recipient Lydia Gilpin of Burke County, GA received a $1,000 scholarship award. The NaturaLawn® of America Dan Collins Scholarship was established in 2017 in memory of Dan Collins, a NaturaLawn® of America franchise owner from Richmond, VA who passed away from cancer in 2005. Collins was known for his kind heart and “larger-than-life,” gentlemanly manner. The scholarship named in his honor seeks to recognize high school or undergraduate students who exhibit similar generosity of character and goodwill.
