Project EverGreen Highlights National SnowCare For Troops Awareness Week

snow and ice removal
As a national non-profit organization in the green industry Project Evergreen recognizes that during these challenging times, the need to help military families with snow and ice removal services so they can carry on with daily life is greater than ever. Helping meet that need is Project EverGreen’s SnowCare for Troops program that provides complimentary snow and ice removal services and peace of mind for the families of deployed military personnel. Together with program sponsor BOSS Snowplow, Project EverGreen presents National SnowCare for Troops Awareness Week — January 23-29, 2022 — to spotlight and recognize the valuable work being performed by hundreds of dedicated volunteers across the United States. “The need to assist military families serving overseas or on the front lines here at home with snow removal services continues to grow, and SnowCare for Troops will be there,” says Cindy Code, Executive Director of Project EverGreen. “With the ongoing and generous support of our thousands of volunteers and our program sponsor BOSS Snowplow, it’s our mission to continue to grow the program and provide the support that many families need during these challenging times.” Now in its 12th year, SnowCare for Troops has evolved into more than just a service to clear driveways and sidewalks of snow and ice. It’s a lifeline for military families in need to help maintain their independence and go about their daily routines taking care of family, work, and school. From across the industry, professional contractors, groups, and individuals volunteer their time and provide ...

SnowCare For Troops Expands To Include Healthcare Workers

SnowCare
As COVID-19 cases are anticipated to increase across the U.S. this winter, those on the front lines of the pandemic will need support more than ever. Recognizing this, Project EverGreen, along with program sponsor BOSS Snowplow, are expanding the SnowCare for Troops program to include healthcare professionals. Dubbed the SnowCare for Troops Cares for Our Healthcare Heroes, the program asks SnowCare for Troops volunteers to nominate frontline healthcare professionals in their community to receive free snow and ice removal services. Volunteers are encouraged to identify potential recipients through neighborhood groups, school or church groups, or social media. The expanded program will run through April 1, 2021. Once an individual or family has been identified and parameters of service established, SnowCare for Troops volunteers are asked to provide the name, address, and list of services provided to Project EverGreen for its database to ensure they are properly matched. “We realize we can’t help all front-line heroes, but we hope that with the support of our dedicated volunteers we can provide vital snow removal services to healthcare professionals during this unprecedented time,” says Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. Volunteers will determine how many individuals or families they can help, and what services they can provide. Code suggests that volunteers identify people directly related to the healthcare field such as nurses, paramedics, health care workers conducting coronavirus testing, and hospital support staff. “BOSS is proud to continue to support Project EverGreen and the SnowCare for Troops program. We are very ...

Military Families Need Your Help

Winter 2019 is going to be a teeth-chattering cold one, with plenty of snow, according to the venerable Farmers’ Almanac. That’s not the news families of deployed military personnel want to hear since clearing driveways and sidewalks of snow and ice is physically taxing, and a real hardship when one of the primary heads of household is not there. That’s why the need for volunteers remains strong and Project EverGreen, in partnership with BOSS Snowplow, is once again teaming up to make a difference this winter by encouraging snow management professionals to register to become a Project EverGreen SnowCare for Troops volunteer. Now in its ninth year, the need for SnowCare for Troops volunteers is still tremendous. With military deployments occurring regularly across the U.S., new volunteers are needed in all states to provide snow removal service to the families of deployed military personnel. Volunteers are matched with families within their service area. “SnowCare for Troops provides military families in need with peace of mind and lifts a significant burden from their plates,” says Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “We’re very grateful for the commitment of our dedicated volunteers and the continued support from BOSS Snowplow. The leadership they have demonstrated in support of military families goes above and beyond the call of duty.” November 11-17, 2018 is National SnowCare for Troops Awareness Week and is intended to raise the profile of the program and spotlight the efforts of the initiative’s loyal volunteers and the military families they ...
