Curtis Industries has announced an Advantage Modular Cab System for the Gravely Atlas JSV 3200, 3400, 3400SD & 6400 Model Utility Vehicles. The Curtis Advantage Modular Cab System allows you to easily add any Curtis Cab components to an existing Gravely Atlas. The Hard-Coated Polycarbonate Windshield is designed to provide long lasting, scratch resistant visibility. It includes two independently adjustable vents for driver and passenger comfort. An optional 172˚ sweep electrical wiper is available for wet weather conditions.The Curtis Advantage Door Kit features highly durable rip-stop vinyl panels mounted on strong powder-coated steel frames. Upper and lower windows provide maximum visibility. The lockable doors are removable, without tools, for operation in hot weather. Utility vehicles are a growing product category for many segments of the industry, and can provide landscape contractors and facility managers with a versatile piece of equipment for their fleets. UTVs (sometimes called side-by-sides) were developed with work in mind, initially used in outdoor applications like ranching, farming, and hunting. Now, they’ve been adopted by industry and deployed on construction sites, college campuses, sports fields, and with their range of attachments, can be adapted to fit a range of use cases in the landscape industry.   Use cases. Utility vehicles offer landscape contractors and a multipurpose piece of equipment that can work year-round. What makes UTVs such a practical addition to a landscape management fleet are the many attachments and accessories that these machines support. Depending on your needs, these vehicles can be configured as people movers in crowded stadiums, fitted with a plow or brush to clear snow along sidewalks and driveways in a city center, or kitted out with racks and a tank and used as a landscape maintenance crew vehicle on a corporate campus. John Deere Honor Gators Join Veterans Day Celebrations At National Mall

As part of this year’s Veterans Day ceremonies commemorating the men and women of the U.S. military, John Deere has partnered with the Trust for the National Mall to support events on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The company has provided three of its XUV835M Honor Edition Gator Utility Vehicles (Honor Gators) to be used by onsite staff throughout the ceremonies, and one Honor Gator will remain with the National Mall as a donation to support future events. The National Mall is visited by an estimated 36 million visitors a year and hosts some of the nation’s most iconic annual celebrations, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the National Independence Day Celebration, presidential inaugurations, as well as wreath laying ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. John Deere, with support from the Atlantic Tractor dealership, is donating an Honor Gator for use in the planning and execution of these national celebrations and observances on “America’s Front Yard.”   The National Mall spans more than 1,000 acres of greenspace and features the iconic monuments and memorials that symbolize the nation’s democratic values. OPEI Expands Product Representation, Adds Golf Cars And Light Transport Vehicles

The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) has announced that the International Light Transportation Vehicle Association (ILTVA) has transferred representation of its member products and respective ANSI standards to OPEI, effective January 1, 2019. This expands OPEI’s product representation to now include golf cars and light transport vehicles. “OPEI is a natural fit for these products as we actively represent a wide range of utility vehicles currently in the marketplace,” says Kris Kiser, President of OPEI. “As the association of record in this space, we’re a leader in the development of safety standards for UTVs, and have significant experience as it relates to these vehicles with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other regulators.” OPEI currently represents manufacturers of utility vehicles for a wide range of end-user applications. ILTVA developed and maintained ANSI standards relating to the design and performance of golf cars and personal transport vehicles. That organization will wind down its operations, and those standards will now be part of OPEI’s ongoing standards development work. “As uses and applications of these products have expanded, it made sense for us to partner with OPEI.
