Kubota Awards Equipment to Five Veterans

In honor of those who served, Kubota Tractor Corporation awarded five new farmer veteran recipients new Kubota equipment through its 2022 “Geared to Give” program in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC). Every year, one veteran from each of Kubota’s five operating divisions is selected to receive new Kubota equipment through the program, with awarded equipment such as agriculture tractors, utility and compact tractors, and utility vehicles. In addition to their new equipment, each recipient is honored with a special ceremony to recognize their military service and their continued service to their communities through farming.Since “Geared to Give” was established in 2015, Kubota has provided $800,000 to the Farmer Veteran Coalition in the form of organizational support, grants to veterans, and 36 pieces of donated Kubota equipment to help them take their farming operations to the next level. Additionally, Kubota offers exclusive discounts to members of the Farmer Veteran Coalition with instant customer rebates for purchasing select Kubota equipment at all 1,100 authorized-Kubota dealerships nationwide. The 2022 “Geared to Give” program received more than 400 applications through FVC’s Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund. Free Lifetime Parks Pass For Veterans & Gold Star Families Announced

Last week, the Biden-Harris administration announced that veterans of the U.S. Armed Services and Gold Star Families can now obtain a free lifetime pass to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites spread out across more than 400 million acres of public lands, including national parks, wildlife refuges, and forests. Each lifetime pass covers entrance fees for a driver and all passengers in a personal vehicle (or passholder and up to three adults at sites that charge per person) at national parks and national wildlife refuges, as well as standard amenity fees at national forests and grasslands, and at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Veterans can present one of the four forms of acceptable ID (Department of Defense ID Card, Veteran Health ID (VHIC), Veteran ID Card, or veteran’s designation on a state-issued US driver’s license or ID card) at participating federal recreation areas that normally charge an entrance fee. Gold Star Families obtain information, self-certify they qualify and download a voucher by visiting the U.S. Geological Survey’s website. “The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and our federal teammates are proud to honor our veterans with free lifetime access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas across the nation,” said Lieutenant General (LTG) Scott Spellmon, Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. “This is a small token of appreciation for veterans who have bravely dedicated their lives to defending our freedom.” The Alexander Lofgren Veterans in Parks Act authorized free lifetime access to ...

SiteOne Landscape Supply Aids Veterans With Non-Profit Donation

SiteOne I Want To Mow Your Lawn
SiteOne® Landscape Supply donated $10,000 worth of battery-powered equipment to I Want To Mow Your Lawn™, a non-profit organization that provides free lawn service to veterans, elderly, and others in need. The donation—a combined effort from several SiteOne branches in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania—provided the non-profit with brand-new, environmentally friendly equipment. “We’re seeing new laws banning gas-powered equipment, so we wanted to help the non-profit get ahead of those regulations while supporting its efforts in assisting veterans and elderly in need,” said Doug Shinnick, SiteOne sales support representative. “One of our pillars at SiteOne is to be a good neighbor. We strive to be impactful by implementing our large but local mindset and giving back to our communities.” I Want To Mow Your Lawn is composed of 200 volunteers in 40 states. Those in need can search for landscape help on IWantToMowYourLawn.com or submit a lawn service request. Local volunteers, many of whom are landscape contractors, then help complete the requests. The non-profit encourages the use of battery-powered equipment to contribute to a cleaner environment. “The generous donation from SiteOne made a big impact on our mission to preserve dignity, enable independence, and build community by providing eco-friendly, essential lawn service for those in need,” said Brian Schwartz, founder of I Want To Mow Your Lawn. “We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with SiteOne.” “We are honored to work with Brian, who started I Want To Mow Your Lawn at the height of COVID-19 when the ...
