Giving Tuesday News: Doosan Bobcat’s Fall Giving Campaign Donates $250,000+

Doosan Bobcat North America (Bobcat) employees recently wrapped–up their fall giving campaign, exceeding total donation goals. The company donated more than $250,000 to local organizations in North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Georgia focused on education, community prosperity, and health resources. Bobcat’s fall charitable giving campaign took place over a two-week period in October, allowing employees to concentrate their efforts toward giving back to non-profits working to cultivate local communities. In addition to the funds raised by employees, Doosan Bobcat matched nearly half of total donations secured by staff members to further amplify employee generosity. New to this year’s campaign, employees could choose any organization with a 501(c)(3) status, rather than selecting from a pre-set list of non-profit organizations. United Way remained a featured charity for the campaign, receiving strong employee and organization support in addition to more than 100 other nonprofit recipients selected by employees. Doosan Bobcat has been a partner to United Way for more than 20 years, supporting its mission of inspiring and activating communities to improve lives. The fall giving campaign wrapped–up a season of volunteering and community efforts on behalf of the Doosan Bobcat company. In September, it was announced that more than 425 employees dedicated their time and talents to participate in 35 community projects toward the company’s annual Doosan Days of Community Service events. The program was part of a company-wide volunteer effort aimed at giving back to the communities where Bobcat employees live and work. Projects during this particular event spanned across Bobcat’s ...

Fishing Pros, Toro Team Up For Texas Spring Clean Up

Toro fishing pros
In late March, while 40 Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour anglers were out competing on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Deep East Texas, the real work was taking place off the water. Toro-sponsored anglers Brent Chapman and Jeff Sprague were joined by fellow pros Skeet Reese and James Watson for a “Spring Clean Up” event at the residence of local Jasper resident, Kamron Slaydon. Slaydon was raised in Jasper, TX and graduated from Jasper High School in 2018. Immediately after graduation, Slaydon joined the U.S. Marine Corp and committed his life to serving our country. However, in January of 2019, while at home in Jasper while on leave, Slaydon was severely injured in an accidental shooting which damaged his C4 and C5 vertebrae, resulting in him being a quadriplegic.   Since the accident, Slaydon has spent the last two years doing everything possible to regain his independence. He has visited multiple physicians, therapists and specialists and spent hundreds of hours doing numerous different treatments and therapies. Slaydon and his family are raising money to help with the expense of an epidural stimulator to help him regain as much mobility as he can in his upper and lower extremities. When the MLF anglers learned of Slaydon’s story, they immediately wanted to do something to help. Sprague and Chapman called in a few favors and the idea for a “Spring Clean Up” event was born. Sprague and Chapman recruited their fellow competitors, Reese and Watson, and arranged for Toro distributor, Professional ...

NALP Annual Event For Fallen Heroes

volunteers
Real Green Systems, a Detroit-based field service software company and a member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), joins forces today, July 15, with hundreds of lawn and landscape professionals from across the country to volunteer at Renewal & Remembrance, organized by the NALP. This is an annual day of service at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. The event marks the 23rd year that industry professionals have come together to help enhance the national burial site. Arlington National Cemetery serves as the final resting spot for more than 400,000 military service men/women and their spouses. This year, more than 400 professionals — including three employees from Real Green Systems — will volunteer their time. The volunteer activities include: mulching, upgrading sprinklers, cabling and installing lightning protection for the trees, pruning, and planting liming. In total, NALP members will help to enhance more than 200 acres of the vast grounds at Arlington National Cemetery. Volunteering will also take place in parts of Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemeteries. “Our industry is proud and humbled to volunteer our services at Arlington National Cemetery every year,” said Carol Keeling, interim CEO for NALP. “While the cemetery is beautifully maintained all year long, it is an honor for our industry professionals to lend their expertise and skills to enhancing the grounds. This service event allows the lawn and landscape industry to honor our nation’s heroes and put our professional knowledge and skills to work for good.” Members of the National Hispanic ...
