Certification

Recertification or CEUs
For recertification credits or continuing education credits for CNGA’s certification programs and GCC’s Professional Gardener Certification and Recertification program, all classes offered at ProGreen Expo will be accepted. For continuing education units (CEUs) for the Landscape Industry Certified Technician or other PLANET certifications, please refer to www.landcarenetwork.org/cms/certification/recert/ceu.html.

Green School
If you make your living in the green industry, there are basic things you need to know about plant material, soils and irrigation. These basic classes will provide a consistent knowledge and are taught by professors from specialized classes that lead to certification as your knowledge and skills increase.

Before going to Green School classes, pick up an attendance form from the certification desk in the lobby. Have the room monitor sign after each class to verify your participation. When the required number of classes have been completed and verified, a certificate of attendance may be purchased. The fee is $20 per certificate for members and $25 for nonmembers. Landscape Industry Certified Technician Test (formerly known as CLT)
Written Tests:
Wednesday and Thursday, February 9-10, 7:45 – 11 a.m., Check in at Room 610-612
Partial Hands-On Testing:
Wednesday and Thursday, February 9-10, 1 – 4 p.m.
Fee Structure:
$50 for written tests only
$50 for hands-on tests only
$85 for combination of written and hands-on tests

If you are already Landscape Industry Certified, any session you take at ProGreen EXPO qualifies for continuing education units (CEUs) toward maintaining an active status for your certification. You must document each session you attend and retain those records to submit to PLANET when you recertify. The CEU submission form is available on PLANET’s website.

Stand out from your competitors and enhance your personal credentials by becoming Landscape Industry Certified through PLANET. PLANET offers a variety of certification programs designed to compliment your expertise and instill consumer confidence. You must register with PLANET for testing at ProGreen. Exams offered include industry certified manager (CLP), landscape industry certified interior technician (CLTI), landscape industry certified horticultural technician (COLP) and landscape industry certified lawn care technician (CTP-CSL).

ISA Arborist Certification Exam

Fee: $150 for ISA and Chapter Members (must be a member of both), or $250 for nonmembers

Colorado Department of Agriculture Continuing Education Credits for Commercial Pesticide Applicators
Class numbers 13, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 64, 65, 66, 67 and 68 qualify for CPA CEUs and is offered at ProGreen. Check the schedule for details. CEU forms will be handed out at the classes and verifying signatures must be obtained at the end of each class.

Colorado Certified Nursery Professionals Exam
Tuesday, February 8. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Room 606
Fee: $75 for CNGA Members, $150 for GreenCO members and $300 for nonmembers

Plant I.D. Lab
Wednesday and Thursday, February 9-10, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Room 701

If you are studying plant I.D. for any of the certification tests, this lab will help you prepare. Feel free to stop in at any time to review and study.

Certified Greenhouse Grower Seminars & Exam

The CGG training seminars and exam are offered at least once each year for those wanting to increase their knowledge of greenhouse growing. Earning a certification designation illustrates a higher level of professionalism that benefits the individual and company for whom they work.

Snow and Ice Management Association’s (SIMA) Certified Snow Professional Exam (CSP)
SIMA offers an industry structured and rigorous six-hour certification exam for those serious about running an efficient snow business. The CSP exam covers major areas of importance to those in the snow and ice management business, including snow science, snow mechanics, accounting, marketing, law and human resources.
