The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute has appointed Gerry Coons as its new vice president of industry affairs. He is an engineer and MBA, as well as a 30-year OPE industry veteran. Most recently, he served as general manager at the Husqvarna production facility in Orangeburg, S.C.
In his new position with OPEI, Coons will oversee and manage ISO and ANSI standards and regulatory relationships with the EPA, Consumer Product Safety Commission, California Air Resources Board, Health Canada and Canadian Provincial Authorities.
