SANDUSKY, Ohio – Syngenta is sponsoring Jerry Lucas as the keynote speaker at The Ohio Turfgrass Foundation’s 2014 OTF Conference & Show and OSU Green Industry Short Course at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center here Dec. 10.
Ohio native Lucas has achieved success as a basketball player at all levels and also as a best-selling author and memory expert.
- 1960 NCAA Championship as an Ohio State Buckeye
- 1960 Olympic Gold Medalist
- 1973 NBA Championship with the New York Knicks
- 7-time NBA All-Star
- 2-time inductee to the Basketball Hall of Fame (once for his individual career and also as a member of the 1960 Olympic team)
- Named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history
- Named to 5-man College All-Century Team in 1999 by Sports Illustrated.
Following his basketball career, Lucas became an educator and memory expert. He has authored and/or co-authored several best-selling books, including "The Memory Book" and "Ready, Set, Remember". His memory system has been developed and is the basis of programs within multiple school systems.
His presentation will take place during the Awards, Scholarships and Keynote Presentation on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
