Education Conference

At the Education Conference, an extensive line-up of education events will include topics covering business management, plant material, creative environments, “green,” pest management and irrigation best practices.

On Friday and Saturday morning, $5 admission to two short-course Growing Education tracks will be offered this year.

Free Education Lounge sessions during the trade show will feature seven speakers.

Thursday, August 13

8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Irrigator CEU Tracks: The irrigator track will offer two full-day classes by the Irrigation Association, approved for 8 CEU hours for irrigators licensed through the TCEQ and the IA.

  • Landscape Drip Design, Maintenance and Scheduling

The class, manual, handouts and instruction will review the different methods to design and install drip systems to meet site requirements. Emphasis will be on proper scheduling, learning how to check for proper performance and how to troubleshoot problems to keep systems working optimally.

  • Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting Part II

This advanced class will teach skills to repair and troubleshoot today’s more sophisticated irrigation systems. Topics covered include dealing with advanced electrical problems, such as two-wire systems, DC systems, diagnosing advanced problems through amp readings, phasing and grounding and identifying basic sensor problems.
