KENNETT SQUARE, PA – Just a few weeks remain to see Longwood Gardens’ nighttime exhibit, Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience by Klip Collective, before it closes October 31. Created by Klip Collective of Philadelphia, this display combines light, sound, imagery and music. Nightscape is on view Wednesday through Saturday evenings only from 6-11 p.m. Special tickets, which include all-day admission, are required and should be purchased in advance.

Nightscape has attracted more than 122,000 guests since its opening in July. The Philadelphia Inquirer calls Nightscape a “daring mash-up of art and nature,” Global Delaware calls Nightscape “a must see” and Geekadelphia calls Nightscape, “an impressive blend of art, technology, music and nature.” Technically Philly applauds Nightscape saying, “Longwood wades into the tech world with an amazing light installation. Just go.”

“The glowing response we have received to Nightscape has exceeded our expectations,” said Paul B. Redman, Executive Director. “We are thrilled to entertain our loyal guests in an innovative, new way, and at the same time, welcome new guests that may have never visited a garden before. The response to Nightscape is truly a testament to the beauty of our Gardens and the creativity of Klip Collective.”

Nightscape includes nine site-specific locations, with each experience inspired by and related to the gardens. Locations include the Rose Arbor, Large Lake, Flower Garden Walk, Topiary Garden and the grand Conservatory. Highlights include the Legacy Tree featuring blue and violet colors moving from the tree’s root system through its arching canopy where particles of light disperse into the night sky. The Large Lake is a celebration of the seasons, orchestrated against a musical score that evokes the sounds of the night forest. The Topiary Garden brings its sculptural forms to life transforming into a whimsical band.

Before or after experiencing Nightscape, guests can also enjoy Longwood’s new Beer Garden featuring brews by Victory Brewing Company. Dine with pub-style fare and a variety of beers on tap, including a new Longwood signature brew, Longwood Seasons: Autumn Wheat, created by Victory Brewing Company using honey grown at Longwood. Live music fills the Beer Garden every Thursday evening through October. A Nightscape ticket is required to enjoy the Beer Garden.

Nightscape is on view Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 6-11 p.m. through October 31. Admission is $27 for adults (ages 19+); $17 for students (ages 5–18); and free for ages 4 and under. Tickets are limited and should be purchased in advance at longwoodgardens.org.
