Toronto (March 6, 2015) – Hillenmeyer Landscapes, a Weed Man® franchise since 2003, has expanded its territory into the Lexington, Ky., and Nashville markets with the purchase of two new territories.

Hillenmeyer cites both short- and long-term growth opportunities for the fifth-generation Louisville-based company and its employees as the driving force behind the expansion.

“Weed Man’s superior sales, operational and marketing systems and processes, as well as its scalability and opportunity for employee growth make the expansion process easier,” says Chase Hillenmeyer, general manager of Hillenmeyer’s Weed Man operations. “The Weed Man model enables us to offer new career paths for our employees and keep them in the organization.”

The ability to create long-term career opportunities also helps in Hillenmeyer’s recruitment efforts. “If we can show prospective employees a long-term plan and career path, it allows us to attract more quality employees,” adds Stephen Hillenmeyer, president of Hillenmeyer Landscapes.

Like many of their peers in the lawn care and landscape industry, the Hillenmeyers were looking for opportunities to develop a succession plan for their business and the long-term growth and expansion capabilities offered by Weed Man proved to be the right formula.

Nationwide, Weed Man franchise operations grew by more than 17 percent last year – and double-digit year over year growth five years in a row – Weed Man USA now operates in more than 400 territories via more than 165 franchise license agreements. Each territory represents a population of 150,000.

Weed Man, which specializes in business systems, zero-based budgeting, marketing and customer service, has been named the top lawn care franchise by Entrepreneur magazine for three consecutive years. The national lawn care franchise firm has also been recognized by Franchise Business Review, which named Weed Man one of its Top 100 Franchises Rated by veteran business owners.
