N.J. Town Bills Residents for Lawn Care After Sandy

LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Some southern New Jersey residents whose homes were wrecked by Superstorm Sandy are upset about bills their getting from their township for lawn mowing services.

It has been reported that Little Egg Harbor Township billed homeowners more than $19,000 in 2013 for mowing and lawn maintenance services. Michael Fromosky, assistant township administrator, says the bills are part of a routine practice to keep the community looking good. But this year, many of the bills went to homes in the hard-hit Mystic Island section.
