Kansas City, Missouri – Representatives of PBI‐Gordon Corporation joined fellow members of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) for the 19th annual Renewal & Remembrance volunteer cleanup and maintenance event at Arlington National Cemetery and a Legislative Day on Capitol Hill.

A national leader in the professional turf and ornamental management industry, PBI‐Gordon was represented by Allen Baumstark, Ray Funkhouser, Jim Goodrich, Doug Obermann, Trevor Radford, and Scott Wanzor. The team joined more than 400 NALP members in aerating the soil, planting, mulching, fertilizing, etc., to improve and protect the historic site.

“It’s been my privilege to help out with Renewal & Remembrance six years now,” said Goodrich, PBI‐Gordon product manager for fungicides, insecticides and plant growth regulators. “As a U.S. Navy veteran, it’s an honor just to be at Arlington, let alone contribute to the protection of this hallowed ground.”

The day began at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony featuring a joint color guard and speaker presentations to dedicate the day of work helping to maintain the grounds. Participants also met with senators and representatives on Capital Hill to discuss issues impacting the landscape industry.

“The event gives us an excellent opportunity to meet with our elected officials,” said Obermann, PBI‐Gordon Professional Turf and Agricultural Products director of sales. “Professional lawn and landscape is a $74 billion industry employing about 900,000 people, so it’s important that we get to spend real time with the people representing us.”
