Turfgrass Producers Coming to San Diego

EAST DUNDEE, Ill. – Turfgrass Producers International will have their 2015 International Education Conference & Field Day in San Diego, California, on Feb. 16-19.

The four-day event is open to everyone with an interest in the green industry and is sure to provide attendees with numerous opportunities to gain valuable information and the opportunity to see the latest equipment. 

The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa will serve as the host hotel to welcome turfgrass producers from across North America as well as Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and South America. Also in attendance will be leading manufacturers and suppliers of turfgrass-related equipment, products, supplies and services.

Two days of educational sessions will include informative seminars, interactive panel discussions and numerous presentations conducted by renowned research scientists, turfgrass producers and industry experts. Among the many presentations on the schedule: comparing natural grass and artificial turf for use on athletic fields; 2015 outlook for the turfgrass industry; tips on closing the sale; hiring, training and managing seasonal workers; innovative products and services; weed management in sod production; current research update on turfgrass carbon sequestration; and a great deal more.

TPI’s Field Day will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at A-G Sod Farm in nearby Nuevo, California, hosted by John, Betty and Joel Addink. Equipment demos and static exhibits will provide those in attendance with a great opportunity to learn more about a wide range of products and services that can help grow their business. Attendees can expect to see plenty of equipment including harvesters, mowers, tractors, forklifts, tillers, installers, cultivators and more.

Also on the schedule are numerous social functions, the Annual Business Meeting, networking opportunities, working group and committee meetings along with optional activities such as a San Diego City Tour and a variety of entertaining fundraising activities to help support on going turfgrass research and education through The Lawn Institute including a Memorial Golf Tournament, competitive tricycle race and networking scavenger hunt.
