In support of the Irrigation Foundation’s new initiative to build a bridge between graduates and irrigation careers, Peter Moeller, director of marketing, and Jim Lohan, director of sales, The Toro Co., presented a $10,000 check to the Irrigation Foundation, on behalf of The Toro Foundation.
The effort, which is a strategic initiative for the Irrigation Foundation in 2012, is focused on linking students to viable jobs in our industry,” says Steve McCoon, of Nelson Irrigation, and incoming chair of the Irrigation Foundation. “The Toro Foundation’s generous contribution will help us toward our goal of bringing this effort to fruition in the first quarter of 2012.”
The intent is to develop an interactive Web presence that enables students to post resumes online and connect to Irrigation Association member companies seeking employees in both the landscape and agricultural arenas.
“Supporting education in water management and creating green job opportunities to help students, our businesses and the economy, in general, are key focus areas for The Toro Foundation,” says Moeller. “We are proud to be a charter donor of the Irrigation Foundation, and are encouraged by their aggressive plans for 2012.”
