EPA Halts Sale of Imprelis Herbicide

DuPont has been ordered by the EPA to stop selling and recall its Imprelis herbicide. The order came after the EPA began getting reports in June from state agencies of damage to evergreens linked to Imprelis. The herbicide had been marketed to control weeds in recreational areas, such as golf courses, and commercial properties, such as sod farms, and had been approved for use in all U.S. states except California and New York.

SquareOne is labeled for crabgrass and many small broadleaf weeds, and can be used in spring and fall on lawns, athletic fields, sod farms and golf courses. In addition to New York, it is also currently registered for use in all other states except California and Hawaii.
