Imprelis Gets EPA Registration

DuPont Professional Products’ Imprelis herbicide has been registered by the U.S. EPA, and state registration applications have been made. Imprelis allows turf professionals to control dandelion, clover and plantains, as well as ground ivy and wild violets, even during reseeding or rainy days.

Gowan Co. Acquires Dow Products

Gowan Company has reached an agreement with Dow AgroSciences to acquire the rights to M-Pede and Scythe.

M-Pede is an OMRI-certified insectide/fungicide that controls aphids, thrips and mites on a variety of crops, including ornamentals. Scythe is a nonselective herbicide that controls a broad spectrum of weeds. The purchases expand Gowan’s line of crop protection products and allow Dow to focus resources on priority solutions in its agricultural chemical portfolio.

Bayer Announes New Sales Rep In South

Jason Frank has joined Bayer Environmental Science as a field sales representative for the southern region. He will be working on the golf and lawn care sales market in southwest Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.

He brings experience in both markets to Bayer, as he was an assistant superintendent and a lawn care owner and operator. Most recently he worked as an assistant superintendent at Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Naples, Fla.

Syngenta Communicators Take on New Roles in North America

Syngenta Corporate Affairs in North America has appointed three employees, including the creation of a new position, all of which will stimulate the communication efforts of the organization.

Sherry Duvall Ford moves into the newly created role of head of community engagement, where she will be responsible for building the Syngenta reputation through community and corporate partnerships, developing business-driven community engagement strategies, and overseeing corporate sponsorships and donations. She has been with the company for more than 11 years, most recently marketing communications for Syngenta Crop Protection. She has experience in issues management, media relations and community relations.

Formerly director of internal communications and most recently marketing communications manager of Syngenta subsidiary Fafard, Ann Bryan is now the director of external communications for Syngenta Crop Protection. After more than six years of experience at Syngenta, she will be the point person to manage communications for several key issues.

Steven Goldsmith will now serve as director of science communications focused on the external communication of science, research and development and biotechnology for Syngenta. He was recently the media relations manager for the Corp Protection division.

Pam Molitor will continue her role as director of external communications for Syngenta Seeds.
