Fiesta Turf Weed Killer Coming to the U.S.

Under a new distribution agreement, German-based Neudorff has assigned exclusive distribution rights to Engage Agro USA to market its bioherbicide, Fiesta Turf Weed Killer, for all professional turf markets in the United States. The agreement allows Neudorff to expand on the successful 2010 Canadian launch of its new iron-based broadleaf weed killer into the U.S. For Engage Agro USA, it is the latest addition to an expanding product portfolio that provides unique crop protection and nutritional solutions to agricultural, turf and ornamental markets in the country.

FMC Announces Expansion of Field Organization

FMC Professional Solutions has announced that the company is expanding and reorganizing its field operations to ensure more market support for the pest control, turf and ornamental industries. The reorganization creates new positions while redefining the focus of those already in the field. One of those new positions is commercial development manager, one for pest and one for turf and ornamental market segments, that will manage a team of market specialists throughout the U.S. and in all professional market segments. In addition, FMC created new key accounts manager roles for each market segment that will focus on national and other major customers to strengthen existing relationships and build for the future. Fourteen market specialists, seven for each segment, will collaborate with marketing, key accounts management and product development. Transition timing for the new organization is mid-February.

Lebanon Seaboard Acquires Divisions of Plant Health Care

Lebanon Seaboard has acquired the U.S. horticultural and turf division of Plant Health Care, Inc..

Several PHC executives and sales personnel will join LebanonTurf, the professional division of Lebanon Seaboard, under terms of the agreement.

The acquisition reinforces LebanonTurf’s commitment to the growing field of biological plant nutrition, and PHC complements Lebanon Seaboard’s 2009 acquisition of Novozymes’ turf and landscape business, as well as its 2008 acquisition of the Emerald Isle line of foliar and granular fertilizer products from Milliken Chemical.

Lowery Joins Valent Professional Products

Heath Lowery has joined Valent Professional Products as territory manager in the South Central region. He will be responsible for managing the company’s turf and ornamental product lines and distribution channels in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.

Lowery spent the past three years as a propagator for Greenleaf Nursery Co. in its Texas division. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in environmental science, and he also has a master’s degree in horticulture from Stephen F. Austin University.
