DIG Wins IA Award
DIG Corp.’s LEIT-2ET weather-based, solar-powered wireless irrigation system was named by the Irrigation Association as the new product winner for the Turf/Landscape Division at its annual show. The system was chosen by a panel of judges made up of irrigation professionals from around the U.S. The award honors irrigation products that foster new concepts and innovative technologies that improve and conserve future irrigation water usage around the world.
Dixie Chopper Celebrates 30th Anniversary with YouTube Video Contest
As a way to kick off 2010 and help celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, Dixie Chopper is holding a video contest titled “Who Loves Their Dixie Chopper Lawn Mower?” Dixie Chopper owners and/or those who use Dixie Chopper equipment are invited to submit a 60-second (or shorter) video that will be posted on YouTube telling the world “Why I love my Dixie Chopper.”
The contest runs until May 31, 2010, and the winner will receive a Dixie Chopper Magnum mower.

Terex Donates to Toys for Tots
Terex Construction gave away more than $45,000 worth of ASV compact track loader die-cast toys to Toys for Tots in Minnesota. Terex delivered six pallets with about 3,000 toys to the donation center in Isle, Minn.
Sol Names New Business Development Manager
Sol, Inc. appointed Andy Chaguaceda to the position of business development manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. He has 30 years of electrical sales experience and holds an associate degree from Ashworth College. He will be based out of Miami, Fla.
Echo Offers Two-Year Warranty
Echo announced a two-year commercial warranty on its product line. The upgrade includes all engine-driven product categories outside of chain saws, cutoff saws and Quikvent saws.
David J. Frank Receives National Awards
David J. Frank Landscape Contracting, Germantown, Wis., was recognized with nine national awards for excellence. They included seven Environmental Improvement Awards from the Professional Landcare Network, a Green Star Award from the Professional Grounds Management Society and a national Leadership Award. The award-winning projects included Mayfair Mall and Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant, Wauwatosa; private residences in Pewaukee, Milwaukee and Mequon; Monona Terrace Convention Center, Madison; Rooftop Garden, Milwaukee; and Wells Fargo, Menomonee Falls.

Kreuscher Wins Smooth Operator Contest
Toro announced that Lucas Kreuscher, owner of Greens Keepers Lawn Care in Lake Mills, Iowa, was the winner of its Smooth Operator Video Challenge. His video, which highlighted the ways the Toro GrandStand stand-on mower has helped smooth out his ride and his business, received the highest rating on Lawn Site.com/tv during the contest period. Kreuscher will receive a “Smooth Out Your Business” prize package, including a four-night stay at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, four Park Hopper passes and a park tour with Disney’s top landscape and horticulture specialists.
Schréder Opens New Facility
Schréder Lighting USA opened a new manufacturing facility in Addison, Ill. The facility features manufacturing, prototyping, warehousing, distribution and semiautomated assembly, as well as a reception area, conference rooms and offices. Operations Manager Mark J. Domzalski will oversee daily operations of the facility.
