Nitterhouse won an ICPI award for its work on The Boulevard Mall project in Louisiana.

Nitterhouse Wins ICPI Award

Nitterhouse Masonry Products, LLC was selected by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute to win a Hardscape North America award for its work on The Boulevard Mall project in Baton Rouge, La. The company received the award in the program category of Commercial Concrete Pavers (over 50,000 square feet). The total combined square footage of the architectural pavers and truncated dome pavers manufactured and supplied by Nitterhouse equaled 85,000 square feet.

Fort McCoy to Produce UltimateFlora

Environmental Turf, Inc. announced that Fort McCoy Farms, Ocala, Fla., was selected as a licensed sod producer of UltimateFlora zoysia, an environmentally friendly turfgrass. Fort McCoy Farms is owned and operated by Don and Travis Johnson. Don Johnson is a founding member of the Florida Sod Producers Association and has 28 years of experience in the turf industry in Florida.

Horizon Launches Website, Partners with SnowEx

Horizon Distributors, Inc. announced the launch of its new website, www.horizononline.com. Along with increased functionality and easy navigation, the site features an expanded resource section, a store locator and information on customer-focused programs. Customers can download resources including podcasts, trainings, webinars and the Landscape Maintenance Guide.

Horizon has partnered with SnowEx to become the exclusive distributor of SnowEx products in the states Horizon serves, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Toro Hosts Unique Student Event

The Toro Co. announced “The Collegiate Experience at Toro University,” a new educational program geared toward college students preparing to enter the turf industry. The learning experience builds upon Toro’s professional education program, called Toro University, and provides future turf professionals an exclusive opportunity to better prepare themselves for a competitive job environment. The two-day inaugural program was held at Toro’s world headquarters in Bloomington, Minn., and hosted 29 students from 16 universities around the U.S.
