EDM to Distribute ZRATOR in New England and New York

After two years of steady growth for ZRATOR, UTECO, Inc. announced that EDM Distributors, Inc., Suffield, Conn., will handle ZRATOR distribution in New England and upstate New York. The company’s long-term business plan has been to market its ZRATOR line of steerable, front-mount core plug aerators for zero-turn mowers through a strong two-step distribution channel.

EDM is the first distributor UTECO has assigned and will play a key role in helping to get the ZRATOR product closer to the dealers and landscapers in its market area. LandOpt Expands with Addition of WildWood

WildWood Landscape, Purcellville, Va., joined the LandOpt Contractor Network as its 17th landscape service provider. Jason Dengler founded WildWood in 2005. The company has since grown to become an award-winning landscape design and construction firm serving northern Virginia and surrounding areas with core services that include master plans, landscape, masonry, outdoor kitchens, water features and maintenance. Robinson Reps Attend Kubota Meeting

Representatives from Robinson Equipment, Lakeview, Mich., attended Kubota Tractor Corp.’s 2011 national dealer meeting in San Antonio, Texas, and had the chance to get an exclusive look at the latest Kubota product introductions and innovations across all lines of Kubota tractors, construction equipment, utility vehicles, and lawn and garden equipment. More than 1,000 Kubota dealers from across the country convened to receive a first look at the new product enhancements. Robinson reps also attended field demonstrations and classroom sessions.

Rain Bird Nozzle Wins New Product Award

Rain Bird’s new High-Efficiency Variable Arc nozzle (HE-VAN) received the Irrigation Association’s 2011 Best New Product of the Year Award in the turf and landscape category. The award was formally announced at the Irrigation Show in San Diego, Calif. This marks the second year in a row that a Rain Bird product has received this honor, with XFS Subsurface Dripline achieving Best New Product of the Year status in 2010.

Bobcat Announces Price Increase

Effective December 1, 2011, Bobcat Co. raised the price of power units, attachments and select loader options. Models scheduled to become 2012 Interim Tier 4-compliant increased by 5.25 percent. This will be the lesser of two planned price increases for these models.

IA Announces Awards

The Irrigation Association’s Smart Irrigation Month Committee named the winners of its Smart Marketing Contest, designed to recognize the best efforts of 2011 to promote the initiative. Contest winners were named in six categories: Reinke Mfg., Deshler, Neb., agriculture; Rainscapes, Maryville, Tenn., small business; Toro Co., Riverside, Calif., manufacturer; Aqua-Flo Supply, Goleta, Calif., distributor; Atascadero Mutual Water Co., Atascadero, Calif., affiliate; and Del Conte’s Landscaping, Fremont, Calif., contractor.

IA presented its annual awards at the 2011 Irrigation Show in San Diego, Calif. Recipients included George Sesser, Nelson Irrigation Corp., Walla Walla, Wash., and Rene Evelyn-Veere, Rain Bird Corp., Tucson, Ariz., Industry Achievement Awards; USDA-ARS Water Management Research Unit, Fort Collins, Colo., National Water & Energy Conservation Award; Howard Wuertz, Sundance Farms, Inc., Coolidge, Ariz., Person of the Year Award; and Jack Keller, Keller-Bliesner Engineering, Logan, Utah, Crawford Reid Memorial Award.
