Roger Phelps, promotional communications manager for STIHL, Inc., has been appointed to PLANET’s Academic Excellence Foundation Board, which was formed to provide academic assistance to students pursuing a career in the green industry.
Phelps joined STIHL in 2001 as event marketing specialist, and in his current position oversees the activities of the promotional communications department.
STIHL is a founding member of the AEF Board, and annually awards a student studying for a career in the green industry a $1,000 scholarship. Starting this year, the STIHL scholarship will be awarded to a Hispanic student studying for a green industry career.
