GREENSBORO, N.C.- After more than three decades of service for Syngenta, Margaret Bell is
retiring, effective May 4. Her career spanned the green industry, pest control and agriculture markets, beginning in the late 1970s. Since 2001, she has worked in marketing communications in Syngenta’s Lawn & Garden group.
Bell’s role as a communicator in the green industry is well known, as she interacted regularly with editors, public relations professionals, writers and trade association executives in the lawn and landscape, ornamental and golf course industries.
"She is a consummate professional; working tirelessly to accurately communicate the benefits of Syngenta’s products and services to writers and end-users," said Den Gardner, executive director of the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA) and former executive director of Project EverGreen. "Equally as important, she has been a passionate advocate for industry involvement.
"Margaret has been active in various trade associations including TOCA, serving as vice president for nearly a dozen years; Project EverGreen, where she serves on the executive committee; Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA); Professional LandCare Network (PLANET); and other organizations."
Bell’s retirement plans are yet to be determined. In the short term, she plans to "retire" and decide what she wants to be when she grows up and enjoy her children and grandchildren. “
