BOSTON, Mass. – RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) traveled to Boston to meet with green industry professionals at New England Grows, one of the Northeast’s largest horticulture trade shows. The show gave RISE staff the opportunity to talk about pesticide and fertilizer issues and the importance of grassroots engagement in advocacy efforts.

RISE Communications Coordinator, Allison Donaghy and team members Morgan Prentiss and Sarah Laborde stayed busy in the RISE booth speaking with trade show attendees about the important role pesticides play in public health and the environment. “This year we focused on raising awareness of how social media efforts can influence conversations about our industry and why it’s important to engage in advocacy on social media channels,” said Donaghy. “Those visiting our booth got to have some fun playing Jenga by writing lawn care tips and the reasons why they use pesticides on game pieces.”
